Well we are officially here! All of our stuff is being unpacked slowly! It is hard when Allura wants constant attention!
Also we had her 4 month check up (a little late since we were moving). She had two shots and an oral vaccination (We started spacing them out - We didn't like giving her all of them at once like last time).
She is 17 pounds and 25 inches long. Her growth has slowed a little bit but she is still a big girl for her age! She is now in 6 month clothing. (Which sucks because since we were moving I had packed up all of her 6 month and older clothes. She could have been wearing some of them for about a month now. She is already getting a little big for some of the clothes labeled 6 months. Oh well hopefully someone else in our family will have another girl - maybe us one day? :) ) I would hate to waste them!
Allura is changing everyday now! She can roll over and prop her head up. She talks a bunch! And laughs like crazy when you bounce her.
No signs of teeth yet - thank goodness!!
The doctor said to wait on rice cereal until 6 months. So for now breast milk only.
Also FYI: The pediatrician said absolutely no sleeping on her tummy. (Yes I already knew this but she flips herself on her tummy during nap time.) So he said that I need to flip her back onto her back until she is a year old. Babies can still suffocate even if their noses aren't pressed up against anything. The air they breathe out can recirculate back into their noses. So NO TUMMY SLEEPING!!!
Also he said no oral gels for teething. He said the medicine can get into their lungs since the gag reflex gets numbed.
And finally he said no walkers yet since they can bump into things since they are not coordinated enough yet. He said bouncers are fine.
I think I might get the Baby Einstein saucer.
Sorry it has been so long. But like I said I was moving and wow, I am so glad we are in our new house!

The tummy sleeping advice seems pretty harsh... how are you supposed to monitor her every nap/night and get rest yourself?
We got M an amber teething anklet and I don't know if it works, but it's cute! I think another problem with the pain gels is that they can make nursing more difficult because their lips numb too.
We didn't try the Baby Einstein bouncer, but we got an evenflo, and it was AWFUL! And it caused him to break out in a rash! The company bought it back from us. We got a Fisher Price jumperoo and he absolutely loves it. I'd recommend the precious planet one if you are interested because it has a bar you can clip toys to.
My 6 month old has been tummy sleeping since he was 2 months old and his doc is totally fine with it. He won't sleep otherwise. I'm comfortable with it and feel okay with it. To each his own - but these doctors aren't gods...so trust your own gut and do what's best for your little one. :)
we are in texas now too how are yo uliking it! were going to miami til august 3rd but then we should get together! good luck unpacking the moving company gets here today i have to be honest i already miss california and the weather more than anything!
Happy 4 months. And congrats on getting moved.
My baby is 10 months old and I freaked when he started flipping over in his sleep. We still had him in a sleep positioner. I figured he wouldn't flip if he was in that. He still did with it attached to his back. Now he flips over the instant we lay him down. We flip him over and he immediately flips back onto his tummy. Our doc just said to try to lay him down on his back and if he flips at night there is really nothing we can do about it. Just make sure he doesn't have bumpers in the crib and only a thin blanket. No toys.
I didn't know that about the gels either. That is so scary!
The baby with Down Syndrome I nanny for sleeps on her tummy & has since she was born. Her doctor actually recommended it. I think I've heard that once babies start moving around in their sleep it's okay to let them sleep on their stomach. I think your baby girl just enjoys sleeping on her stomach more than her back. :)
