Aghh, I hate you 2 WW; although you are somewhat better than the 2 weeks with needles and medicine. One more week to go, wish I could focus on something else!!! This weekend we worked on the garage (cleaning and painting) but I stayed away from fumes just in case. That worked for a whild but I am now at work and it is going SLOW. Luckily Halloween is coming up!! I can look at all of the cute costumes, but the baby ones get to me!! They look so freakin cut!! All I can do is hope that I will be dressing someone up next Halloween!
p.s. all babies should be pumpkins for Halloween!!! just my opinion.
After 2 years of Struggle, our prayers have been answered. Our Miracle Baby came to us through Faith, Love, Hope, and a whole lot of Science! We tried the Old Fashioned Way, Clomid, Injectibles, IUI's and finally succeeded with IVF!

Insemination!!
Ok, Sorry it has been so long since my last post. On Wednesday the 22nd we did our first (and hopefully last!!)insemination. I was so nervous!! We had to be there at 8:30 for Sean's appointment, then at 11:00 it was my turn. It felt like a procedure in betwenn a papsmear and an HSG. It wasn't as painful as the HSG but it definetly was not pleasant. They insert the tube that holds the prpped sperm and also a catheter. They inflat the catheter in order to force the sperm up the fallopian tubes (or in my case tube!), so it is really the most effective way to do insemiantion. I felt really bloated for about the next day and a half, but this is normal. Right now I am on progesterone suppositories and in the dread two week wait (2WW). The nice part is that I know this is the best chance we have had for conceiving; but the scary part is thinking that it still might not work. I am trying to keep postive though!! I will test myself the day after the election (Nov. 5th) It feels so far away... I am trying to keep busy though. Every time I let my mind drift I get really excited, or sometimes really sad depending on if I am obsessing on success or failure!

Needles!!!
Aghh! I had to shoot myself again!! You would think that giving yourself shots would become easier; but I know what pain is coming and I start freaking out!!! Last night I had to wake up at midnight and give myself the trigger shot. So I went downstairs, and while trying to keep my eyes open, proceded to mix the shot. And right when I am about to do it I chicken out!! (1, 2, 2 1/2, 2 3/4...) Aghh I hate the self doubt!! Just do it alreay my head keeps saying, but my hand wont budge!! Usually Sean is there to make me do it, but I didn't want him to have to wake up too. So finally after three countdowns I did it! Ouch - it never gets easier!!!! Who knows hopefully this will be the last one!!

Thanks to everyone for their support
Thank you all for your kind words!! It helps to know that I have my people out there praying for us!! Some good news: I had my doctor's appointment on Saturday and the found two big follicles and one smaller one (So hopefully three total!!) I am going to trigger myself (give myself a shot) at midnight tonight. Sean and I have our appointment on Wednesday morning for insemination. I am a little nervous but mostly excited! We already know what to expect for the most part but it's still crazy to think that this might work!! I'll keep you updated!

My first blog
Hi Everyone,
This is my first blog. My friend Marijana from college has one and it inspired me to create my own!
My husband Sean and I have been trying to conceive for almost a year and a half now. That sounds like a long time (because it is!!! okay I got that out of my system!) it really isn't that long though - here is why:
The first 4 months we tried like any other couple - I montored my cycle with Ovualtion Predictor Kits (OPK's) and found that I was ovulating way past day 14 like a normal girl. Also, I was spotting alot, so I started to chart my temperature with A BBT chart (it looked like a heart monitor reading - not helpful at all!!! - My cycles seemed so strange to me. So I went to my OBGYN (Now this sounds like a drastic step for a woman only 25, but I have an interesting history: I had my right ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cysts. I also had cysts on my left ovary but they were able to save it, Thank God! SO with all this in mind I went to the doctor: she said that wasn't ovulating on my own (Agh - now it made sense - out of whack BBT, spotting for weeks at a time, late OPK results!)
I was so ready to start fertility drugs! So I saw an Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE - fertilty doctor). I had an HSG done to make sure my tube wasn't blocked (It looked really funny on the X-ray since I only have one tube left!!). This procedure feels like the worst PMS cramping you have ever had!! But toally worth it (my results from that and my day 3 bloodwork to check my hormone levels all came back fine - ans Sean's bloodwork and sperm analysis were fine too by the way). So why wasn't I ovulating??? (I still do not know to this day)
So after all of the tests came the drugs: Clomid 50 mg for six months with a HCG trigger shot to release the egg (that I have to give myself!!!). Sounds good enough - so for the next six months (with a three month period in-between due to changing insurances - don't get me started on insurance we are on 4,500 dollars out of pocket and counting!!) I took the clomid tablets, went in for my day 11 violation - I mean ultrasound :) and took the trigger shot based on what the ultrasound said. And nothing! I made follicles each time, I even had two follicles on my last round, but every month the same thing - a negative pregnancy test.
So this brings us to present day (I left a little out just so I don't bore you!):
This month we're moving onto Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI). I take FSH-follistim three times (three self administered injections) and 100 mg of clomid, then go in for my ultasound, take the trigger shot to release the eggs then 36 hours later Sean and I go in to do the insemination.
Today is my day 9; that means that I have alreay taken the fertilty medication; I go in for my ultasound on Saturday and see how many follicles are there.
I hope that this will work; I really need it to work!! So please think good thoughts for me!!
